NBA Draft: Cyclones Await Professional Basketball Prospects

Will Clyburn, one of the former Iowa State University Cyclones Mens Basketball players who spent the summer working out for NBA teams, told the Shreveport Times that he didn't plan his Thursday evening around the NBA Draft.

Though Clyburn was listed in early second round draft projections, he said he'd wait for a phone call rather than sit before a television.

“I’m not getting all hung up in planning my day around watching the draft,” Clyburn told Shreveport Times. “I’ll be nervous, wherever I decide to be (tonight), but there’s only so much that you can control.”

Coach Fred Hoiberg told the Iowa State Daily that Clyburn's summer workouts have gone well.

"He's worked out for pretty much every team in the draft with the exception of I think two teams, but a lot of those teams won't pick,” Hoiberg said.

And Hoiberg said Chris Babb, who has worked out for the LA Lakers, Trail Blazers and Pacers, had a lot of great workouts despite a shoulder injury.

“He's been generating a lot of buzz, so I know he's certainly helped himself,” Hoiberg told the Daily.

The Ames Tribune reported that even if no Cyclone's names are heard during the show that all seniors should expect a call in the coming days.

Korie Lucious and Tyrus McGee have also seen some interest according to the report.
