North Franklin Avenue Closing For Reconstruction In Ames
All are encouraged to take note of this construction activity in the area and allow extra travel time as delays may occur.

North Franklin Avenue from Lincoln Way to midblock between West and Woodland streets will be closed to all traffic beginning Thursday, April 29, weather permitting. This closure is necessary to begin the first stage of the reconstruction of North Franklin Avenue from Lincoln Way to Oakland Street. The City of Ames has contracted with Manatts for this project.

This stage of reconstruction will include removal of the existing roadway, followed by placement of new pavement, curb, and gutter from Lincoln Way north to midblock between West and Woodland streets. Work on this stage is expected to be complete within four to five weeks. Following the completion of this stage, North Franklin Avenue will reopen to traffic from Lincoln Way to midblock between West and Woodland streets. North Franklin Street will then be closed to traffic from midblock between West and Woodland streets to Oakland Street to allow the next stage of roadway reconstruction to continue.
