“Anyone with an interest in films or film making is encouraged to participate,” said Craig Kaufman, Auditorium, Bandshell, and Community Center manager. “This group will brainstorm ideas and generate a list of individuals interested in exploring what an Ames-based festival could look like.”
The idea of an Ames film festival has been discussed for years, but the concept never developed into an event, said Kaufman. “There’s a lot of potential and excitement around this topic. I’d love to see interested people get involved to get something going,” he said.
Community members who are unable to attend the meeting but interested in being involved should email Kaufman at craig.kaufman@cityofames.org
