The Iowa Transportation Commission and Iowa Department of Transportation have been working on updating the state long-range transportation plan for Iowa. This plan provides a framework for how future investments should be made to Iowa’s multimodal transportation system. The Iowa DOT is also updating the State Freight Plan, which helps guide investment decisions related to freight transportation.

As part of both plan updates, public input is being sought regarding Iowa’s multimodal transportation system. A survey has been developed to gather feedback on travel habits and how they have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, opinions of Iowa’s transportation system, and thoughts on the future of transportation.

The survey and information concerning both plan updates are available online at:  https://iowadot.gov/iowainmotion. Please revisit this website regularly to stay informed throughout both planning processes. Input from this initial survey will be used to help shape the long-range plan and freight plan objectives and strategies. The survey will remain open through June 8.
