Video - University of Iowa Student Forcibly Arrested
Video of a University of Iowa police officer arresting a student is getting a lot of attention for the controversial amount of force used.

Grayson Scogin, a 27 year-old student at the University of Iowa, felt he was mistreated when arrested in Iowa City recently.
Taking matters into his own hands, Scogin posted the video of his arrest on YouTube. This video has now gone viral, much like similar stories across the country in recent months.
As reported by KCCI this morning, Scogin was walking alone one night when an officer saw him nearly get hit by a car when he walked into traffic. The officer tried to stop Scogin, who disagreed with the officer’s claim and kept walking.

As seen in the video, Scogin eventually stops to talk to the officer but is taken to ground when he reached into his pockets for his ID.
Scrogin, who admitted he had been drinking that night, said he could not hear the officer tell him to put his hands behind his back in the heat of the moment.

“At the time I was screaming at the top of my head, ‘I wasn’t resisting,’ and I wasn’t,” Scogin told KCCI.
Some think Scogins was belligerent, others believe this is another case of law enforcement using unnecessary force.
