Cedar Falls To Conduct Prescribed Burn

The City of Cedar Falls will be conducting a prescribed (planned) burn within the boundaries of Prairie Lakes Park. The burn is tentatively scheduled for the week of April 5th, 2021, as weather permits. If the weather does not allow for a burn, it will take place the following week.

To ensure a safe and successful burn, Cedar Falls Parks/Public Works staff will be working with Cedar Falls Fire Rescue.

Prescribed burns are used to control invasive plant species and to restore and maintain native plant communities that will benefit wildlife and promote sustainable ecosystem services.
