Cedar Falls Man Hospitalized After 2-Vehicle Collision in Black Hawk County

A Cedar Falls man was injured in an accident Saturday.

Black Hawk County Sheriff's deputies responded to a two vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of East Gresham and Schenk Roads in Black Hawk County at approximately 3:15 p.m.

Authorities said Duane Schloman, 75, of Denver, was traveling southbound on Schenk Road when he collided with a vehicle driven eastbound on East Gresham Road by Jack Hovey Jr., 58, of Cedar Falls.  

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.  Mr. Schloman was cited for failing to yield to the right.  

Mr. Hovey was transported to Allen Hospital by Denver Ambulance.  His condition has not been released.

 Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Iowa State Patrol and Denver Fire and Ambulance.
