Cedar Falls Police and Target Hosting 45th Annual Safety City
During the program, students will learn about fire safety, calling 911, first aid, stranger danger, electrical safety, train safety and numerous other areas of safety.

The Cedar Falls Police Department will again be partnering with the Target Distribution Center to host the 45th annual 'Safety City'. The event will be held in the parking lot at the Target Distribution Center from September 17-20th. Kindergarten students from the Cedar Falls Community Schools and St. Patrick's Catholic School will all be in attendance, totaling about 470 students.Â

During the program, students will learn about fire safety, calling 911, first aid, stranger danger, electrical safety, train safety and numerous other areas of safety. Target team members will also complete a child ID kit with fingerprints for every kindergarten student in attendance.Â

The Safety City program and related materials are funded annually through a grant from Target Corporation. The public safety agencies of Cedar Falls want to thank Target for their commitment and support of this annual public education program.

Partnering agencies offering this public education include the Target Corporation, the Cedar Falls Police Department, Cedar Falls Fire-Rescue, Black Hawk County Consolidated Dispatch, Sartori Paramedics, Iowa Northern Railway Company and Cedar Falls Utilities.

The Safety City Program has been an annual event since 1968.
