Cedar Falls Woman's Murder Trial Postponed; She May Argue Stabbing Was Self Defense

Kristie Clark-Richardson is accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend, Keon Dale, of Waterloo, in March.

The first-degree murder trial for Kristie Clark-Richardson, 35, of Cedar Falls, will be delayed.

Clark-Richardson is accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend, Keon Dale, 38, of Waterloo, in March.

The trial, which was supposed to begin Tuesday, has been delayed until Oct. 14 because Clark-Richardson's attorney is on medical leave due to a leg injury and infection, the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reported.

The Courier also reported the attorney filed a notice she may argue Clark-Richardson acted in self-defense.
