Harlem Globetrotters Get Some Iowa Love Before Cedar Falls Visit

Gov. Branstad declared "Harlem Globetrotters Day" in Iowa as the Globetrotters tour the state.

Iowa Governor Terry Branstad and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds welcomed Hammer Harrison of the world famous Harlem Globetrotters to the governor’s office on April 1, where Governor Branstad proclaimed April 7, 2013, to be, “Harlem Globetrotters Day” in the state.  

Harrison presented the executive team with personalized jerseys, with Branstad sporting No. 20 and Reynolds wearing No. 13, to signify the year 2013.  Harrison then put on a display of the signature ball handling for which the Globetrotters are so well known.

The Harlem Globetrotters are bringing their spectacular 2013 “You Write the Rules” World Tour to Sioux City on April 3, Des Moines on April 7, Fort Dodge on April 9 and Cedar Falls on April 10.  More information on the performances can be found at www.harlemglobetrotters.com.

The Globetrotters will be at the McLeod Center on April 10 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $17-65 and are available through UNItix.
