Local Lion Announces Run for Cedar Falls City Council
Current Ward 1 Cedar Falls City Council member Tom Hagarty will not seek re-election. Will Dave Hartley replace him on the council?

Dave Hartley, 45, has announced his candidacy to represent Ward 1 on the Cedar Falls City Council.
“My goal will be to have Cedar Falls continue to operate within a balanced budget, strive to lower taxes, to be a good steward of the city revenues, and get the best return of services for our citizens,” he said in a press release.
Hartley, a lifelong Cedar Falls resident, is a 1986 graduate of Cedar Falls High School and 1990 graduate of Hawkeye Community College. He is married to Brooke Hartley. He has an adult son, Ethan, and a daughter, Kailee, a student at Cedar Falls High School.
Hartley said he has worked for locally-owned Woolverton Printing Company for 20 years. He is active in the Cedar Falls Lions club and has been involved with the Marketing and Advertising Club and Printing Craftsman Club.
The election will be Nov. 5. Tom Hagarty, who currently holds the Ward 1 seat, has announced he will not seek re-election. Ward 1 represents northern Cedar Falls.
