North Cedar Neighborhood Association Chairperson Running for Cedar Falls City Council Seat
Mark Miller has been the chairperson of the North Cedar Neighborhood Association since it formed in 2009 and has been active in responses to the 2008 flood and Cedar River cleanup issues.

A Cedar Falls businessman has announced his candidacy for the upcoming Cedar Falls City Council election.
Mark Miller, owner of E360 Building Company, Inc., is running for the Ward 1 seat being vacated by Tom Hagarty, who has announced he will not seek re-election in the November vote.
"I have been fortunate to call Cedar Falls my home for the majority of my life. I graduated from Cedar Falls High in 1994 and attended both UNI and Hawkeye Community College," Miller said. "I have lived in three different neighborhoods in Ward 1, and I think this offers a unique perspective to understanding different neighborhood concerns."
So far, one other candidate, Dave Hartley, is also running for the seat. The filing deadline is Sept. 19.
Miller, 37, has been the chairperson of the North Cedar Neighborhood Association since it formed in 2009 and has been active in responses to the 2008 flood and Cedar River cleanup issues.
"Community involvement has been an integral part of my adult life. I have been involved in city activities on a volunteer basis, both in my personal and professional life, for the better part of 10 years," he said. "This have given me a good understanding and respect for how our city operates to maintain city services but still provide low taxes, all the while keeping quality of life at the top of the spectrum."
The election will be Nov. 5. Ward 1 represents Northern Cedar Falls.
