Obituary: Eli Ostby
Eli Ostby, 37, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday after being hit by a train in Waterloo.

CEDAR FALLS- Eli A. Ostby, 37, of Cedar Falls, , 2012, in Waterloo.
He was born August 21, 1975, in Waterloo, son of Steven and Hilda (Mouw) Ostby. He married Lisa Hokomoto on May 23, 1998 in Cedar Falls and they later divorced.

He graduated from Northern University High School in 1993 and earned his BA in Communications from the University of Iowa in 2003. He was employed as a Personnel Recruiter for Boss and Associates, and most recently worked in sales with Yellowbook, both in Cedar Rapids.
Survived by: two daughters, Bella and Alia Ostby of Des Moines; one son, Luther of Des Moines; his parents, of Cedar Falls; two sisters, Shannon (DJ) Perkins of Hurst, TX, and Leah (fiancé Dusty Overman) Ostby of Luzerne; three brothers: Aaron Uban of Minneapolis, MN, his twin, Max Ostby of Iowa City, and Joseph Ostby of Denver, CO; and maternal grandparents, Dr. Orvin and Tean Mouw of Burleson, TX.

Preceded in death by: paternal grandparents, Roger and Naomi Ostby.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Nazareth Evangelical Lutheran Church with inurnment at a later date in Hillside Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service, and also for one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
