The City of Cedar Falls Public Works Department will begin working on the installation of new parking stalls bordering the Place to Play Playground to help alleviate some of the parking congestion experienced during peak playground hours. In addition to the new stalls, the temporary parking restrictions on both Algonquin and Ashworth Drive will be recommended to City Council as permanent parking restrictions via City Ordinance change.
With the project nearing final design, the City will be holding an in-person public information meeting at the location, time, and date listed above. Upon arrival, you will enter the Public Safety building on the south side (opposite from the fire truck garage doors). As a requirement for the Public Safety Building during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, masks must be worn inside. Once inside, you will take an immediate right turn to enter the conference room where City staff will be able to address any questions or concerns on a one-on-one basis. There will be some prepared exhibits for viewing, but with no videos or presentations, this meeting will be on a come-and-go basis.
Below is a map highlighting the proposed parking stalls and sections of the street recommended for parking restrictions. All are invited to attend.
