Three-Vehicle Accident Sends One to Hospital

One person was hospitalized after a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 58 and Greenhill Road in Cedar Falls just before 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police said a northbound vehicle on Highway 58 turned left into the path of a southbound vehicle. The collision caused the turning vehicle to roll over and strike a third vehicle which was stopped on Greenhill Road. Both drivers were injured in the accident.  

The driver of the vehicle which rolled over had to be extricated from his vehicle by the Cedar Falls Fire Rescue Department and was transported to Covenant Hospital. 

Michael Sheehan, 61, of 1413 W. Eighth St. was cited for Fail to Yield Right of Way on Left Turn.  

The Cedar Falls Police and Cedar Falls Fire Rescue Departments were assisted by Sartori Paramedics, The Iowa State Patrol, and the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Department.
