"It's an honor to be recognized for the initiatives supporting military members, veterans and their families," said Julia Heuer, coordinator of UNI's Military and Veteran Student Services. "We will continue to build on our accomplishments to ensure that UNI is always lauded as a military-friendly campus."

Now in its fifth year, the list was compiled through research in which G.I. Jobs polled more than 10,000 schools nationwide. The methodology, criteria and weighting for the list were developed with assistance of an Academic Advisory Board consisting of educators and administrators from across the country.
