Davenport-Area Groups Awarded $1.35 Million In Grants
The Regional Development Authority provides funding to human service, arts, education and economic development groups.

DAVENPORT, IA — Groups representing human services, arts and entertainment, cultural heritage and economic development are among the 61 community agencies and organizations awarded more than $1.3 million in grants this week by the Regional Development Authority.
The board awarded 51 percent of this round of grants to human service organizations; 38 percent to arts, cultural and educational organizations; and 11 percent to economic development groups.

Continued funding also was made on five multi-cycle commitments that make it possible to contribute to larger, longer-term projects. Those projects are: Eastern Iowa Community Colleges for the Urban Campus project; River Bend Food Bank for an “End Hunger” initiative; Davenport Schools for the Creative Arts Academy; Quad City Symphony for their Masterworks Concerts; and Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois for Camp Conestoga renovations.
