Davenport School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Davenport is August 24. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Davenport Community School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/24: Fist Day of School

Septemer

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/20: 2-Hour Early Dismissal, End of First Quarter
• 10/23: Second Quarter Begins
• 10/26 - 10/27: No School for Students (Conferences)
• 10/30: No School for Students (Inservice)

November

• 11/10: No School (Veterans’ Day)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Holiday)

December

• 12/20: 2-Hour Early Dismissal
• 12/21 - 12/29: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Year's Day)
• 1/11: 2-Hour Early Dismissal, End of Second Quarter, End of First Semester
• 1/12: No School for Students (Inservice)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Day)
• 1/16: Third Quarter Begins, Second Semester Begins

February

• 2/19: No School (President’s Day)

March

• 3/16: 2-Hour Early Dismissal, End of Third Quarter
• 3/19 - 3/23: No School (Spring Break #1)
• 3/26: Fourth Quarter Begins
• 3/30: No School for Students (Inservice)

April

• 4/2: No School (Spring Break #2)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/4: Last Day of School, 2-Hour Early Dismissal
