Allstate earns $15K for Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa

The Allstate Foundation grant to support nonprofit's work to provide a safe place for youth

DES MOINES, Iowa, July 19, 2018 – Nineteen Allstate agency owners and licensed sales professionals from the Des Moines area recently came together to secure a $15,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands® Grant to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa. The grant will support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa’s mission to offer youth a safe place to gather both before and after school – providing an opportunity to get homework done, receive help on assignments, receive nourishment and develop character.

The agency owners and licensed sales professionals earned the grant for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa by cleaning and updating interior classrooms and beautifying the club grounds. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa will use the $15,000 grant to further its work.

Des Moines-area Allstate volunteers joined more than 250 agency owners, personal financial representatives and Allstate employees in a multi-state volunteer effort in April that raised $189,000 to benefit 15 Boys & Girls Clubs across Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming. The participating Allstate [agency owners are among thousands of agency owners and financial specialists around the country working to strengthen communities by volunteering their time to support the causes they care about most.
