Armed Robbery Suspects Sought By Des Moines Detectives
Two men robbed a grocery store and fled in a newer-model Mercedes Benz that could have bullet holes in it after a store clerk fired at them.
DES MOINES, IA — Police detectives are hoping photos from a grocery store armed robbery earlier this month will help the public provide tips that enable them to catch the suspects. The Productos Mexican Grocery at 2300 Hickman Road was robbed by two men on Dec. 4.
Police released the store's surveillance photos of the suspects today — along with a picture of the newer-model, dark-colored Mercedes Benz robbers fled in. One distinguishing feature, they noted, could be bullet holes in the vehicle, since the store clerk fired at the robbers as they escaped.
Police said during the robbery, which happened shortly before 7 p.m. Dec. 4, one of the men was armed with a handgun and pointed it at the clerk. It was the second robbery in two weeks at the store.
