Wondering where to buy groceries, a last-minute present or gas on the holidays? Here's a list of hours for national chains in Iowa.
Making a game plan for that last-minute shopping trip over the holidays — just in case you need a quick gift or forgot the yams? Here is a list of holiday hours for large chain stores that are likely to have food, drink, supplies or gifts at the very last minute, plus some convenience stores if you need gas — or want to gift ice melt, wiper fluid or air fresheners to those close friends and family members.
Costco: Stores will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
CVS: On Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day, select stores will be open and front store and pharmacy hours will vary by location. For a list of CVS Pharmacy locations in a given area, customers can check here. CVS pharmacies within Target stores will be closed on Christmas Day.

Hy-Vee: All stores will close at 5:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day. Stores are open normal business hours on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Kmart: Stores will be open until 10 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed Christmas Day.

QuikTrip: Most stores will be closed Christmas Day and open regular hours all other days.
Sam's Club: Stores will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Target: All stores will open at 7 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. or 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Stores will be closed on Christmas. On New Year's Eve, all stores open at regular time — either 7 a.m. or 8 a.m. — and will close at 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. On New Year's Day, all stores open at regular time and will close at 10 p.m., 11 p.m. or midnight.
Trader Joe's: Stores will be closed Christmas Day and will close at 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve.
Walgreen's: Stores usually open 24/7 will be open all day on Christmas, while locations with limited hours will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Walmart: Stores will close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and are closed on Christmas Day. Stores are open regular hours New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Whole Foods: Stores will be closed on Christmas Day and will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on New Year's Eve and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on New Year's Day.
