Des Moines Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce that the "2020 Report to the Community" is now available.

DES MOINES, IOWA — Des Moines Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce that the “2020 Report to the Community” is now available. This report provides a high-level overview of many of the department’s significant accomplishments over the past year. Recreational program participation, facility usage, project information, testimonials and financial data can be found in the extensive summary. “The 2020 Report to the Community may not look like any other report that our team has produced, as last year was like no other our team or our city has faced,” said Benjamin R. Page, Director, Des Moines Parks and Recreation. “The park system and the programs we could provide remained an essential resource for residents.”Highlights from 2020 include:

- 1,993 dog park permits were sold
- 7,338 viewed Yoga from the Park online
- 14,104 hours of service were donated by 1,662 volunteers, valued at $383,636
- 19,797 visited one of our 3 aquatic centers
- 105,455 rounds of golf were played at A.H. Blank, Bright Grandview and Waveland Golf Courses
