EMC Insurance Companies Invests in Clean Air, Healthy Lungs
Leading insurance company sponsors the Fight For Air Climb

Today, the American Lung Association in Iowa announced that EMC Insurance Companies (EMC) has signed on as the presenting sponsor for the Fight For Air Climb in Downtown Des Moines. This is the first year that EMC has committed to being the presenting sponsor of the event.
The Fight For Air Climb, set for April 7, 2019, invites individuals, families, groups of friends, corporate teams and first responders to race up the stairs of one, two, three or four buildings in downtown Des Moines—EMC, the Financial Center, Hub Tower and the Ruan Building—for a total of 85 floors, 1,796 steps. Funds raised at the event go toward research to find a cure for lung cancer and local programs to help people who suffer from lung disease.
“Through events like the Fight For Air Climb, we are able to fund our work to improve air quality, educate residents on lung health and help people who suffer from lung disease,” said Micki Sandquist, executive director for the Lung Association. “But we can’t do it alone. Our partnership with EMC helps us provide vital support to our community. From funding asthma education, to providing resources to those suffering from lung cancer, this support makes people’s lives better every day.”
