Father/Daughter Dance, Mother/Son Fun Night Tickets Now On Sale
Registration is required in advance for the Feb. 3 Father/Daughter Dance and March 3 Mother/Son Fun Night.

DES MOINES, IA — Tickets are now on sale for two popular parent-child winter activities organized by the Des Moines Park and Recreation Department. The annual Father/Daughter Dance and Mother/Son Fun Night both are geared to children ages 5-12.
The Father/Daughter Dance will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Science Center of Iowa, 401 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. Guests will be able to explore Science Center exhibits as well as enjoy dancing and a chocolate fountain. Daughters will receive a carnation.
In addition, wrist corsages may be ordered in advance through event sponsor Boesen the Florist and order forms for professional photos from sponsor University Photo may be printed and completed in advance.

Adults accompanying the girls may be any father figure or male role model.
The Mother/Son Fun Night will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 3 at Pioneer Columbus Community Recreation Center, 2100 S.E. Fifth St. Animals from the Blank Park Zoo will be on site, along with a video game truck trailer and Ninja Warrior-style obstacle course. The Des Moines Boxing Club will have demonstrations and provide tours and other scheduled activities include face painting, a magician, a Des Moines firetruck and police K-9 unit, and sports skills challenges by professional teams in the area. Guests will receive a slice of pizza and a drink.
