Ice Cream Season Ends Sunday at Granny's Sweet Freeze in Des Moines

Summer is officially over: Granny's Sweet Freeze will dish up its last treats of the season on Sunday.

DES MOINES, IA. -- Like it or not, summer has ended and one sure sign is that Granny’s Sweet Freeze closes for the season on Sunday. The east-side Des Moines ice cream shop is a must-visit place for cold summer sweets, but time is running out.

Granny's is a family-owned business that has operated for 33 years, according to its Facebook page. Arctic Swirls and dipped cones are among the favorites, and non-ice cream items include Granny burgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, pizza pockets and walking tacos.

You’ll even find desserts for your fur friend: Granny’s offers doggie dishes for pups.
