Iowa Cubs Will Open Ballpark For Fans To Watch And Cheer On Chicago Cubs In NLDS

Principal Park in Des Moines will be open Oct. 6, 7 and 9 for fans to watch the Chicago Cubs as they begin postseason play.

DES MOINES, IA. -- Principal Park, home of the Iowa Cubs, will host three open houses for fans to gather and watch the reigning World Series Champion Chicago Cubs in post-season play. The first event will be Friday night. Admission and parking are free.

The Chicago Cubs will be on the road for two games against the Washington Nationals in a best-of-five National League Division Series. They return to Chicago for game 3; a time has not yet been set for that game.

Gates at Principal Park open for Friday's game at 5:30 p.m.; game time is 7:30 p.m. Gates will open at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, for a 5:30 p.m. game. Games 4 and 5, if needed, will be played Oct. 10 and 12.

Concessions will be available while fans watch the game on the HD video board under the lights at the ballpark in Downtown Des Moines. The Iowa Cubs Team Store will have new Chicago Cubs postseason merchandise available for purchase, or you can purchase items online.
