'Back The Blue' Johnston Apparel Available Through Friday
Purchase of a shirt supports the Johnston Police Department and provides $3 to the Johnston Partnership to help serve the community.
JOHNSTON, IA — Apparel that supports the Johnston Police Department with the message "I proudly back our blue" is available through Friday only. The online store will close after that, city officials announced today.
The Johnston Police Department and Johnston Partnership joined forces to provide shirts that demonstrate support for the department while also benefiting people in need in the community. For each item sold in the online store, $3 will be donated to the Johnston Partnership.
The gray shirts are available as short-sleeved T-shirts, long-sleeved T-shirts and hooded sweatshirts. The message, including the police department logo, is written in an outline of the state of Iowa on the back of the shirts. The front bears the phrase #HonorProtectionService reflective of the department's core values in a symbolic "thin blue line."
