Spring is just around the corner and we are welcoming the season with kites!
The first annual Kites on the Green Festival will be Saturday May 3rd at the Johnston Commons, behind Johnston Public Library. To get ready for the big day, come to a Kites on the Green workshop at the library to learn how to make and fly kites. After your design is finished, head out to the Johnston Commons to fly with the assistance of professional fliers. Kites on the Green Workshops are on Saturday, April 5 and Saturday, April 19 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

Is the coming of spring making you want to wax poetic? Throughout the month of April, Johnston Public Library and Kites on the Green Festival will be sponsoring a kite poetry contest. Any form of poetry will be accepted. The kite poetry contest winner will be awarded a $30.00 gift card to a local merchant at the Kites on the Green Festival.  Turn in your completed poem at Johnston Public Library.
