Ground Has Been Broken on Johnston Jethro's

Prepare yourselves, pork chop fans.

Jethro's owner Bruce Gerleman broke ground in Johnston July 29, the Des Moines Register reported. The new restaurant, to be called Jethro’s Pork Chop Grill, will differentiate itself from other Des Moines metro Jethro's with - you guessed it - a focus on pork chops.

That means pork chops may be grilled, breaded, fried, smoked, blackened, in salad and on a stick, alongside other traditional Jethro's offerings such as chicken, seafood and beef.

The current timeline calls for the new eatery to open Dec. 7 at a shopping center still under construction at 5950 86th St.
