Johnston Advances to Iowa High School State Softball Tournament

Johnston has its sights set on a high school state championship.

The varsity softball team advanced to the state tournament following a win over Waukee in the Class 5A regional final Tuesday night. 

The Dragons, 30-11, will play Monday in the quarterfinal round of the Iowa High School state softball tournament, according to the Des Moines Register. They play West Des Moines Valley (26-15) at 7 p.m.

All state softball games will be played at Rogers Sports Complex in Fort Dodge, located at 1628 Nelson Ave.

The semifinals are Thursday, July 25 at 7 and 7:30 p.m. The final is Friday, July 26 at 7 p.m.
