Johnston Area Dems to focus on immigration, Feb. 13
Discussion topic for the regular meet-up, next Wednesday, at Cozy Café.
The Legal Director of the Iowa Immigration Rights Project will be the guest presenter at the Johnston Area Democrats regular meet-up, Wednesday. Jody Mashek recently traveled to the southern border and will share photos of what she found there, along with her experience in advising local immigrants as they navigate a complex system.
In business, the Johnston Area Democrats will also hold an election of officers, considering a slate of candidates who will be nominated.
As usual, the meeting will be held at Cozy Cafe in Johnston, 8385 Birchwood Ct. Participants will gather beginning at 6:00, greet one another and order from the menu, conduct business, and proceed with the immigration program from 7-8:00. Open to the public including young people.
