Johnston Crews Repairing Water Main Break: UPDATE

JOHNSTON, IA — City officials reported at 5 p.m. that the water main break that required emergency work this afternoon has been repaired and water service has been restored. The break affected seven properties along Northwest 51st Street and Northwest 63rd Place in Johnston. City officials sent an emergency alert this afternoon notifying residents in the area that water service would be affected at times during the repair.

The break occurred along Northwest 51st Street between Northwest 63rd Place and Northwest 64th Place and affected properties in the 6300 and 6400 block of Northwest 51st Street and 6300 block of Northwest 63rd Place.

The cause of the water main break is unknown at this time.
