Johnston Emergency Parking Ban In Effect
Violators of the emergency parking ban could face a $25 ticket or having a vehicle towed.

JOHNSTON, IA — A citywide emergency parking ban will begin at 5 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, city officials announced tonight. The ban will remain in effect for 24 hours after snow/ice has stopped.
Vehicles parked on snow routes may receive a $25 ticket or be towed anytime the parking ban is in effect.
Due to the expected dropping temperatures, coupled with rain or sleet, the metro area could see a "flash freeze" during the morning commute or through midday. Officials advise drivers to keep a safe stopping distance from vehicles in front of you and to allow extra driving time to reach your destination.
