Do you have items with these types of words on the label? If you don’t use them, stop storing and get rid of them. Every year, we partner with the western suburbs to help residents get rid of household hazardous waste the safe and smart way.

The City of Johnston hosts the first of four events from 8 a.m. to Noon, March 29, at Johnston Public Works. Click below for complete details.

• Oct. 25 – Clive

What to Bring & Not Bring
Come prepared by reviewing a list of accepted and not accepted items. DO NOT BRING:

• Latex paint (learn how to safely dispose in garbage)
• Electronic waste (find other local options)
• Pharmaceuticals (read about local take-backs)
• Tires (area drop-offs)

If these dates don't work for you, visit our year-round drop-off in Bondurant. Des Moines residents can also get rid of these items at SCRUB Events, which are coordinated by Des Moines Public Works.
