More Parking Added to Growing First Baptist Church
First Baptist Church in Johnston is growing and with the growth comes a new parking lot, which is under construction.

With a growth of First Baptist Church, 97 more parking spots will be added to the west side of the church on 8250 N.W. 62nd Ave.
Tim Deatrick, the pastor of First Baptist Church, said in a news release that the church is growing and the 126-space parking lot built in 2002 isn't big enough.
“On many Sundays for the past several months our original parking lot has been full and some of our members and visitors have had to park on the street,” Deatrick said. “Parking is just a growing pain, it's a good pain to have."
The parking lot is under construction and will be completed this fall, the release said.
