2-Vehicle Crash Sends Marion Woman to Hospital

From Linn County Sheriffs:

At approximately 0821 hours on June 10, 2013 the Marion Fire Department, Marion Police Department, Area Ambulance, Linn County Rescue 57, and Linn County Deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 100 and 44th Street.

Officers arrived to find a 2005 Ford Focus driven by Sara Wattnem Age 28 of Marion was stopped for the stop sign on 44th Street facing southbound. Street facing southbound.  Wattnem was struck in the rear by a southbound 2005 Ford Explorer driven by Rodney Larson Age 48 of Marion.  Wattnem was transported to St Luke’s Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Both drivers were wearing their safety belts.  

The accident remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
