Busy Season For Vball Gear In Marion: Here are Some Of Their Hot Items

Uptown Marion has many a unique business, including Vball Gear, a small specialty volleyball store that specializes in selling volleyball gear and only volleyball gear.

I spoke with co-owner Ted Moser last week about the store and asked him about some of his top selling items of the moment. He said that the summer is actually one of the busiest times for the volleyball supply store, as sand volleyball enthusiasts come to the store in search for protective sand socks and outdoor volleyballs, and school volleyball teams, from high school to college level, frequent Vball Gear to gear up for the coming volleyball season.

Moser said the store acts as a source for gear for many of the local volleyball programs, including Linn-Mar an Marion High Schools. In addition to the items mentioned in the video, he also said some of the big items sold these days are sunglasses and volleyball shoes.

Moser said that volleyball shoes larger than size 10 or 11 are one of the main things that separates Vball Gear from larger chain sports stores that might not have those sizes in stock.

"When I was first starting the store, that's one of the things I learned when I was asking the people in my league for advice, they were having a hard time finding shoes in those sizes," Moser said.
