Cedar Rapids Man Hurt in Single Vehicle Rollover

On September 23, 2013 at about 4:58 PM Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies, Linn County Sheriff’s Rescue, Marion Police Department, Marion Fire Department, and Area Ambulance responded to a single car rollover on Hwy 13 just north of Tower View Rd.  Jeffery Vandenboom, 31 of Cedar Rapids, was northbound on Hwy 13 when he lost control of the 2003 Ford Escape he was driving.  The vehicle entered the median and rolled.  Vandenboom was the only occupant of the vehicle and was transported to Mercy Hospital by Area Ambulance with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. Vandenboom was charged with failure to wear seatbelt, fail to maintain control, and insurance card violation.  The crash is still under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
