Despite Dozens of Linn County Fires, Burn Ban May End

Linn County fire chiefs will be holding a conference call today to decide whether or not to end Linn County's .

The ban was set in place in July, in an attempt to curb fires from dry plants parched from drought.

Cedar Rapids Fire Department spokesperson Greg Buelow told KWWL that, despite the burn ban, there has been more than 60 "natural vegetation" fires in the Cedar Rapids metropolitan area this year, compared to 46 last year.
