Do You Love Ron Paul, Terry Branstad or Bruce Braley? Good for You But Keep the Signs in Your Yard

Candidates included Bruce Braley, Terry Branstad, Tyler Olson, Joni Ernst and others have declared their intentions run for office. Showing support with signs must be done in a safe way, Marion said in a statement.

You can support your favorite candidate, advertise your garage sale or post a for rent sign, just make sure you keep it away from the road, Marion officials say.

Just as a wave of candidates have declared their intentions to seek various political offices, Marion has issued a reminder to residents that only official traffic and street signs are allowed in the city right away. This is the space between the road and sidewalk.

The city will remove those violating signs, some of which can be costly.

"This time of year these type of signs tend to become very prolific and can cause additional distractions to drivers," according to a statement from the city. "Therefore staff will work aggressively to remove them."
