Police: Domestic Disturbance Results in Marion Woman Punching Officer

A tipster told the of a loud, domestic disturbance — police speak for a fight.Â
Marion Police said the complaint was originated from three people arguing: Michael Shaffer, 35, Heidi Heidelberg 31, both from Cedar Rapids, and another unnamed person.
Police discovered that Shaffer had an outstanding arrest warrant.

Marion Police Sgt. Lance Miller said neither Shaffer, or his associate, cooperated.
Shaffer allegedly gave the officers a false name, then fought with them when they tried to arrest him, on July 26 on 44th Street.

When police finally cuffed him, Miller said Heidelberg responded by attacking the police officer and punching a Marion police sergeant with a closed fist.Â
Heidelberg was charged with interference with official acts, assault on a peace officer and a disorderly house violation.
Shaffer was charged with interference with official acts, a disorderly house violation and providing false identification.
