Eastern Iowa Under Severe Thunderstorm Watch Thursday Night
Breaking: There are reports of power outages and storm debris.

LINN COUNTY, IA -- As many Eastern Iowa counties remain under a severe thunderstorm watch Thursday night, there are reports of power outages, downed trees and other storm damages.
In Mount Vernon, a reader tells Patch that power went out throughout the whole town a little after 9 p.m. Thursday and as of 10 p.m. homes and businesses remained in the dark.
Large pieces of storm debris such as downed trees are scattered on local roadways.

According to the National Weather Service, the following Iowa counties are under a severe thunderstorm watch through 1 a.m. Friday. The main severe weather threats are damaging winds and large hail, forecasters said.
