First Iowa Gallon of E15 Gas Sold in Marion
The Linn Co-op recently became the first gas station in the state to sell the E15 ethanol blended fuel.

Marion's Linn Co-op has become the first gas station in all of Iowa to provide E15, the ethanol/gasoline based fuel.
They sold their first gallon Monday. The service manager for the company, Jim Becthold, told Convenience Store News that it was a good day for the fuel provider.
"We are honored to be Iowa's first retailer to offer E15," he said.

The fuel doesn't seem to be a gimmick either. Becthold said that E15 could soon become 50 percent of their fuel sales.
E15 is named as such because the mixture contains 15 percent ethanol, a 5 percentage point increase from E10, which has been readily available for decades.
