On Friday, Aug. 9, hip-hop and R&B duo Gold Revere will perform on the Uptown Artway stage. The free concert will take place from 6-7 p.m.
Recent Linn-Mar High School graduates Akash Gururaja and Ian Crumley began Gold Revere 2017 as an experimental summer project. Combining their classical training in piano, violin and vocal with their love for hip-hop/R&B, Gold Revere has created a unique sound.

Their music is characterized by smooth vocals, complex chord structures and innovative sampling. An impressive presence on social media has catapulted Gold Revere into one of the most successful groups hailing from the Marion area.
Crumley and Gururaja are freshmen at Iowa State University and Vanderbilt University respectively. They plan on continuing to make music and collaborating with artists to create music that inspires.
In 2019, the City of Marion added a part-time event coordinator to expand on the programming currently being offered at its public venues such as the Klopfenstein Amphitheater and Uptown Artway. Groups or performers interested in being considered for future events are encouraged to submit a press kit and audio clips.
