Marion’s population has doubled since its second station was put into service in 1991. This population increase and geographic growth to the north have dictated the need for a third station. It will keep Marion’s response times within the national standard for emergency response times for fire and medical service.
The physical and mental well-being of Marion’s firefighters is at the heart of the facility’s two-story design. It will incorporate biophilic design elements, decontamination and training areas, as well as the department’s administrative offices.
