Help Marion Non-Profit Earn $250,000 from Chase Bank National Grant
Marion-based environmental non-profit, Trees Forever, is vying for a grant from Chase Bank's Community Giving project.

Marion's has planted over 3 million trees in urban and community areas over the last 23 years, which has protected 160 miles of streams and waterways, according to the organization.
The state-wide non-profit based in our fair city is now up for a grant competition with Chase Bank's Community Giving Project. Hundreds of environmental and non-profits across the country are vying for grants that reach as high as $250,000 and as low as $10,000.
“Any new funding we receive will allow us to plant and care for even more trees and natural areas across the state, making our neighborhoods and communities more livable and sustainable," said Shannon Ramsay, founding president of Trees Forever, in a statement.

Over the past 23 years, Trees Forever’s programs and projects have resulted in planting over 3 million urban and community trees, enhancing hundreds of miles of roads and trails, and restoring and protecting of over 160 miles of streams and waterways, according to the Trees Forever website.
The contest will run from Sept. 6 until Sept. 16.
