Portable Insect Zoo and Dog Adoptions Coming to Marion

Do you or your kids have a fondness for the creepy crawlies?

Does your idea of an adorable furry animal involve a Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula?

If so, or if your kids have a fondness for bugs — or if they're terrified and they've been bad — you might be interested in Iowa State University's Insect Zoo.

It's a collection of all sorts of creepy bugs, from hissing cockroaches to butterflies and even scorpions, that's coming to Marion's Culver Garden Center and Greenhouse.

This Saturday at 10 a.m., Culver's will be hosting the insect zoo alongside an some ready-for-adoption dogs from the Cedar Valley Humane Society.

A warning for dog lovers and impulse buyers: these dogs can be adopted right there, where their paws stand.
