Obama's Homeboy and Marion Abe Lincoln Impersonator Talks Meeting the President, Politics

Marion Abraham Lincoln impersonator/actor Lance Mack talked to Radio Iowa about his meeting with the president, in addition to his political preferences.

There's a pretty heated debate taking place in the comment section of Patch's of President Barack Obama's visit to Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, but it has more to do with a Marion resident than the president of the United States.

Marion Abraham Lincoln impersonator/actor Lance Mack made an appearance at yesterday's speech and was given a shout-out by the 44th president, during his speech.

He told Radio Iowa that he's an avid supporter of Obama and said meeting him face-to-face was "fantastic."

"Today’s Republicans either don’t know or won’t acknowledge if they do that the Republican Party of Abraham Lincoln of 1860 was the progressive party and the Democratic Party was the conservative party," Mack said to Radio Iowa. "Mr. Obama, of course, greatly admires President Lincoln. He’s quoted him in many speeches. He also used Lincoln’s Bible upon which to place his hand for his inaugural oath."

Mack considers himself a modern day Democrat. He also said he hopes this won't detract from any Republican clients, but admitted that his statement might have that effect.
