Linn-Mar runners showed true grit this weekend with several strong performances.

Josh Evans, a Linn-Mar junior, set a Drake Relay record in the 1,600 meters on Saturday. His time of 4:10.86 took down the old mark from 1979 and ranks No. 7 nationally, the Des Moines Register reports citing DyeStat.com.

Linn-Mar boys also took the sprint medley relay on Friday at Drake Stadium, according to a KCRG report. Linn-Mar boys also won the 800-meter relay title.
