Lowe Park Improvements: Give Feedback At Marion Open House

Ongoing improvements at the park are planned, with the city's first all-inclusive playground among the concepts.

MARION, IA — The Parks and Recreation Department will hold an open house Jan. 9 to get residents' feedback on future improvements at Lowe Park. The session will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Lowe Park Arts & Environment Center, 4500 N. 10th St.

The next phase of improvements scheduled for Lowe Park feature an all-inclusive playground, open air pavilion and restroom facility near the south entrance at Irish Drive.

The 180-park park extends from Alburnett Road to North 10th Street and is the city's largest park. The south entrance at Irish Drive and two parking lots were constructed in recent years. The Parks and Recreation Department is working with MSA Consultants to further develop the area as a neighborhood park with the addition of the community’s first all-inclusive playground structure, according to a news release.
